“Tanggapin po ninyo ang aming pasasalamat sa mahalagang papel na ginagampanan ninyo araw-araw upang masiguro na ang bawat Pilipino ay may sapat na pagkain,” President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. said during the distribution of Certificates of Condonation and Release of Mortgage (COCROMs) held at the Eduardo Cojuangco Gymnasium in Paniqui, Tarlac.

In his message, the President commended the resilience of farmers for their vital role in ensuring the nation’s food security and expressed deep gratitude for their invaluable contributions to the agricultural sector.

He acknowledged the challenges farmers faced with land amortization under the agrarian reform program. With the enactment of Republic Act No. 11953, these obligations are now relieved.

“Ang inyong mga amortisasyon, interes at iba pang surcharges — lahat po burado na,” he stated.

The Chief Executive also emphasized that the program is not merely a government initiative but a continuation of the legacy started by his father, former President Ferdinand E. Marcos Sr., and Secretary Conrado Estrella III’s grandfather, Conrado F. Estrella Sr., both of whom were instrumental in launching the original agrarian reform program.

Additionally, the President reiterated the Administration’s commitment to improving the livelihood of farmers and strengthening the agriculture sector.

He urged the beneficiaries to maximize the opportunity provided by the debt relief program, encouraging them to continue cultivating their lands for the benefit of their families and the entire country.

“Higit pa nating pagtutulungan ang pag-unlad ng sektor ng agrikultura dahil malaki ang paniniwala kong mas marami pa tayong kaya at dapat gawin,” President Marcos Jr. concluded in his speech.
