President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. led the distribution of Ayuda para sa Kapos ang Kita Program (AKAP) at the Ilocos Norte Centennial Arena in Laoag City.

In his speech, the President acknowledged the challenges faced by Region 1 over the past six (6) months, citing economic difficulties exacerbated by El Niño and rising prices.

He emphasized the government’s commitment to assisting those in need, stating, “We are here to continue to support and bring whatever help we can, kung anuman ang maitulong namin para sa mga nangangailangan.”

The President highlighted the collaborative efforts of various government agencies and local leaders in delivering aid. He reassured the beneficiaries of ongoing government support and monitoring of their situations.

“Nagagawa po namin ito dahil lahat po ng ahensya ng pamahalaan, pati mga LGU, mga ahensya sa mga departamento ay pinagkaisa namin at sinabi naming kailangan lahat ay magtulungan at matulungan natin ‘yung tao,” he said.

The Chief Executive expressed hope that the financial aid would help provide the residents’ essential needs and enhance their quality of life.

“Thank you for joining us in this celebration. Sana naman itong kaunting tulong na ibinigay namin ay makapag-celebrate din kayo sa birthday namin ng aking ama. Thank you very much. Diyos ti agngina kadakayo amin apo,” President Marcos Jr. concluded in his speech.
