Prime Minister Lawrence Wong and Mrs Wong of Singapore conclude their two-day Official Visit to the Philippines, strengthening diplomatic and economic ties between the two nations as they depart from Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 in Pasay City on 5 June 2025.
During his visit, the Prime Minister paid homage to national hero Dr. Jose Rizal by laying a wreath at the Rizal Monument in the City of Manila. He was accorded arrival honors at Malacañan Palace and signed the guest book to signify his formal engagement with the Philippine Government.
Prime Minister Wong held bilateral talks with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., during which they discussed key regional and bilateral matters, including the outcomes of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit in Kuala Lumpur, the ASEAN Community Vision 2045 and various key areas of cooperation. These include climate change mitigation, renewable energy, healthcare and digital transformation.
Both leaders reaffirmed their shared commitment to realizing a ‘Resilient, Innovative, Dynamic, and People-Centred ASEAN by 2045’ as well as their dedication to upholding regional stability and promoting sustainable development.
Concluding the engagement at Malacañan Palace, President Marcos Jr. and First Lady Louise Araneta Marcos hosted an official banquet in honor of Prime Minister Wong and Mrs Wong.
The visit highlighted the enduring strength of Philippines–Singapore bilateral relations, paving the way for deeper collaboration that stands to benefit both nations and contribute to the broader development and cohesion of the Southeast Asian region.
