President Surangel Whipps Jr. wraps up his Official Visit to the Philippines, reaffirming the mutual commitment to strengthening diplomatic ties between the Republic of Palau and the Philippines, as he departs from the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1 in Pasay City on February 24, 2025.

During his visit, the Palau leader paid tribute to Dr. Jose P. Rizal by offering a wreath at the Rizal Monument in Manila. He also received a welcome ceremony in Malacañan Palace and signed the guest book to mark his formal engagement with the Philippine Government.

President Whipps Jr. met with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. for bilateral talks that discussed areas of mutual cooperation such as agri-fishery, technical-vocational education, national security, trade and investment, health and labor, among others.

The two leaders witnessed the signing of key Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) on Fisheries Cooperation, Policy Consultations and the Exchange of Notes on Technical Cooperation.

President Marcos Jr. and First Lady Louise Araneta-Marcos hosted a luncheon in honor of President Whipps Jr. During their toast, both leaders expressed their commitment to continuing consultations and engagements in the spirit of enduring partnership and Pacific kinship while working toward a shared vision of peace, prosperity and progress for the people of the Region.
