President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. received the World Economic Forum (WEF) officials led by Borge Brende (WEF President), Joo-Ok Lee (Head of Regional Agenda, Asia-Pacific) and Miranda Andruccioli (Community Specialist, Regional and Global Cooperation, Asia-Pacific) in a courtesy call at the Kalayaan Hall in Malacañan Palace prior to delivering his keynote message at the WEF Country Roundtable hosted by the Philippines.
With the theme, ‘Forging a Sustainable Future for the Philippines,’ the forum is organized within the context of sustainability, examining the linkages between digitalization, infrastructure development and energy transition. This is the first high-level roundtable convened in the Asia-Pacific region since the end of the pandemic.
Around 60 participants from local and international companies and organizations, representing both the public and private sectors, are gathered in Manila for the two-day event that aims to showcase the country’s distinct advantages as a prime destination of foreign investments.
