President Rodrigo Roa Duterte welcomed the strengthening of bilateral ties, counterterrorism measures, and trade and investment relations between the Philippines and the United Kingdom with the visit of Honorable Liam Fox, the Secretary of State for International Trade of the United Kingdom, in Malacañan Palace.

Ambassador of the UK to the Philippines Asif Anwar Ahmad and Director for International Trade Mike Moon of the British Embassy in Manila accompanied Secretary Liam Fox in the courtesy call.

Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Acting Secretary Enrique Manalo, Department of National Defense (DND) Secretary Delfin Lorenzana, Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Secretary Ramon Lopez, Foreign Affairs Assistant Secretary for European Affairs Maria Cleofe Natividad and Director Pablito Mendoza were also present in the event.
