President Benigno S. Aquino III received Thai Deputy Prime Minister Surapong Tovichakchaikul in a courtesy call in Malacañang.

The Thai leader, who is also the incumbent Foreign Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand, is in the Philippines for a two-day official visit. He and Philippine Foreign Affairs Secretary Albert Del Rosario will sign three important documents which include the Convention between the Philippines and Thailand for the Avoidance of Double Taxation and the Prevention of Fiscal Evasion with Respect to Taxes on Income, Joint Statement for the Establishment of an Energy Forum, and Memorandum of Understanding on the Cooperation between the Thailand-Philippines and Philippines-Thailand Business Councils.

Deputy Prime Minister Tovichakchaikul and Secretary Del Rosario will co-chair the 5th Meeting of the Joint Commission for Bilateral Cooperation on June 21.
