President Rodrigo Roa Duterte received Ms. Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach along with the officials from the Ms. Universe Organization in a courtesy call at Malacañang.

The President and Ms. Wurtzbach talked about the similarities between them, with both of them hailing from Mindanao and winning their respective titles as the first Mindanaoan President and first Mindanaoan Ms. Universe. They also discussed about the possibility of holding the Ms. Universe 2016 competition in the Philippines.

The President was accompanied in the courtesy call by Tourism (DOT) Secretary Wanda Corazon Tulfo-Teo and DOT Undersecretary Katherine de Castro.

The members of the Ms. Universe Organization who were present included Ms. Paula Shugart (President, Ms. Universe Foundation), Shawn Maclaine (VP for Marketing and Business Development), and Esther Swan (Ms. Universe Foundation Manager).
