President Rodrigo Roa Duterte discussed the strong bilateral relations between the Philippines and Japan during the courtesy call of Mr. Katsuyuki Kawai, Special Adviser for Foreign Affairs to the President of the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) of Japan, in Malacañan Palace.

Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Secretary Teodoro Locsin, Jr. and DFA Undersecretary Ernesto Abella accompanied the President during the meeting, while Deputy Chief of Mission Mr. Takehiro Kano and Third Secretary Ms. Akemi Koyano joined Mr. Katsuyuki Kawai.
