President Benigno S. Aquino III, together with Finance (DOF) Secretary Cesar Purisima, welcomed Mr. Abdul Farid Alias, President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Maybank Group in a courtesy call in Malacañang.

Maybank is Malaysia’s largest bank and one of the largest banks in Southeast Asia, with total assets exceeding US$183 billion and having a net profit of US$1.92 billion for 2014.

It started operating in the Philippines in 1997. Currently, Maybank has a total of 79 branches all over the country.
