President Benigno S. Aquino III received Akihiko Tanaka, president of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), in a courtesy call at Malacañan Palace.
Mr. Tanaka is in the country from 26-29 March 2014 and was one of the invited guests in the signing of the Comprehensive Agreement on the Bangsamoro (CAB) between the Government of the Philippines and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) the day before (27 March 2014).
He was joined by Takahiro Sasaki (Chief Representative, JICA-Philippines), Keizo Takemaka (JICA Director-General) and Tetsuro Amano (Deputy Head of Mission, Embassy of Japan to Manila) during the call.
Aside from President Aquino, the Philippines side was represented by Finance Secretary Cesar Purisima, Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process Secretary Teresita Quintos-Deles, Cabinet Secretary Jose Rene Almendras, National Treasurer Rosalia de Leon, and National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) Deputy Director-General Rolando Tungpalan.
