President Benigno S. Aquino III received members from the Japan-Philippines Parliamentarians Friendship League (JPPFL) in a courtesy call at the Malacañan Palace.

The JPPFL delegation, led by its president Kenji Kosaka, met up with President Aquino to discuss the further strengthening of bilateral relations and to express Japan’s support for the ongoing rehabilitation of the areas badly hit by super typhoon Yolanda in central Visayas. Alongside the President were Foreign Affairs Secretary Albert del Rosario and Senate President Franklin Drilon.

Established in 1986, the JPPFL is a parliamentary friendship association composed of members of the Japanese Diet. Since then, the JPPFL has helped the Philippines in keeping the Japanese development and technical assistance to the country.
