President’s Hall, Malacañang
12 January 2016
Business administration students from Harvard Business School were struck by President Aquino’s very welcoming nature when they paid a courtesy call in Malacañang.
The group, led by Dr. Andy Zelleke, talked on the humility and candor of the President and many of them were touched by the personal stories he told like returning to Boston where the Aquino family had a special history.
President Aquino, accompanied by Finance Secretary Cesar Purisima, fielded questions from the students on a wide range of topics and issues like international trade, Philippine economy, overseas Filipino workers, and foreign relations.
Aside from the challenges of his administration, the Chief Executive also talked on good governance, judicial reforms, anti-corruption efforts, infrastructure projects and future leadership.
In closing, President Aquino told the students to be not too frightful about the future and continue to dream but should based this on reality and just maintain the focus.
According to Dr. Zelleke, they are on a one-week global immersion trip in Manila. The sixteen students were organized into six teams and they work with a certain Philippine company on a particular new product or a service development project.
