President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. received His Excellency Ban Ki-moon, Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) President of the Assembly and Chair of the Council, in a courtesy call at the Study Room in Malacañan Palace.

In the face of escalating climate change challenges, the Philippines is intensifying its efforts to mitigate and adapt to environmental shifts. With assistance from the GGGI and a commitment to prioritize climate action, the Administration strives to protect its vulnerable communities and ecosystems.

The former United Nations (UN) Secretary-General announced GGGI’s partnership with developing countries, including the Philippines, to facilitate a transition towards sustainable practices. This collaboration comes at a crucial time as the country grapples with the devastating impacts of climate change.

Recognizing the importance of both mitigation and adaptation, President Marcos Jr. emphasized the importance of investing wisely in infrastructure, energy and water resources. By joining international organizations and leveraging new technologies, the country aims to enhance its resilience and contribute to global climate efforts.
