President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. received German Federal Defence Minister Boris Pistorius in a courtesy call at the Study Room in Malacañan Palace.

During the meeting, President Marcos Jr. and Minister Pistorius reaffirmed the two nations’ commitment to further strengthen its already robust partnership in various areas of mutual cooperation. They also discussed matters regarding Philippines-Germany bilateral relations and important topics on defense ties including updates on the territorial dispute in the West Philippine Sea.

According to the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), the German Defence Minister’s visit coincided with the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the Philippines and Germany which was formally established in 1954.
