President Rodrigo Roa Duterte welcomed Dr. Shinichi Kitaoka, President of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), in a courtesy call at the Malacañan Palace.

The topics discussed in the courtesy call included various future cooperation plans and strategic partnership programs on development between the Government of Japan and the Government of the Philippines.

JICA is an incorporated administrative agency that assists the Government of Japan’s Official Development Assistance (ODA) program in providing aid to developing countries in the form of grants, technical cooperation, and socio-economic assistance.

His Excellency Koji Haneda, Ambassador of Japan to the Philippines, accompanied the JICA President in the event.
