President Benigno S. Aquino III received Carlos Salazar Lomelin, chief executive officer of Coca-Cola Fomento Económico Mexicano, S.A. (FEMSA), during a courtesy call at the Malacañan Palace.

Coca-Cola FEMSA, a Mexico-based global bottling giant, has recently signed a deal to acquire 51 percent of Coca-Cola Bottlers Philippines Inc. (CCBPI) for $688.5 million in cash. This is expected to be completed early this year.

With this transaction, Coca-Cola FEMSA will be in charge of the daily operations of CCBPI and together, they are expected to enhance the local bottling operations that will usher growth in the Philippine market.

Joining them during the call were Trade and Industry Secretary Gregory Domingo, CCBPI President and CEO William Schultz, Coca-Cola FEMSA Asia Division Director Juan Ramon Felix and Coca-Cola FEMSA Asia Division Director of Human Resource and Corporate Affairs Juan Rodriguez.
