President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. warmly welcomed the new Asian Development Bank (ADB) President Masato Kanda in a courtesy call at the Study Room in Malacañan Palace.
During their talk, President Marcos Jr. described the ADB as the Philippines’ most important partner, lauding its ongoing support to the country which has significantly contributed to economic development.
The ADB has funded projects that are part of the Administration’s initiatives, including the Bataan-Cavite Interlink Bridge Project, the Davao Public Transport Modernization Project, the Climate Change Action Program, the Build Universal Health Care Program, the Health System Enhancement to Address and Limit COVID-19 (HEAL) Project, the Competitive and Inclusive Agriculture Development Program, and the Walang Gutom 2027: Food Stamp Program.
Headquartered in the Philippines, the ADB was inaugurated on 19 December 1966 during the administration of the Chief Executive’s father, Ferdinand E. Marcos Sr.
