President Benigno S. Aquino III conferred the Order of Lakandula to Hon. Esteban Conejos and Hon. Henry Bensurto of the Department of Foreign Affairs at the Malacañan Palace.

With the rank of Grand Officer or Marangal na Pinuno and Grand Cross or Bayani, Bensurto and Conejos received one of the highest honors given by the country for their contributions in promoting foreign policy, protecting the sovereignty of the Philippines, as well as their part on the peaceful resolution of the West Philippine Sea issue.

Conejos is a Permanent Representative of the World Trade Organization (WTO) in Geneva, Switzerland while Bensurto is Foreign Affairs Assistant Secretary.
