Beijing, China
4 November 2014
Located in the heart of Beijing Olympic Park, adjacent to the Water Cube and the Bird’s Nest, the China National Convention Center (CNCC) once played a major role as a media center and international broadcast center during the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
Today, the CNCC will once again play a major part in history as China hosts this year 22nd Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit. Several major meetings of the APEC 2014 Economic Leaders’ week starting on 5-11 November will be conducted here, as well as house the APEC media center.
The CNCC has a total floor place of 530,000 sqm., including 270,000 sqm. allotted for convention and exhibitions. The building façade exemplifies the convergence of tradition and modernity, as it resembles the traditional Chinese quoins with a touch of modern architectural design that embodies the rich history and culture of the Chinese civilization.
