President Rodrigo Roa Duterte led the ceremonial distribution of 12,548 Certificates of Land Ownership Award (CLOAs) to the recipients on behalf of the 13,585 Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (ARBs) of Region XII at the Barangay Lagao Gymnasium in General Santos City.

A total of 24,000 hectares of agricultural land shall be distributed to the four provinces of Region XII composed of North Cotabato, South Cotabato, Sarangani and Sultan Kudarat.

The region wide distribution covers the CLOAs issued to the qualified farmer beneficiaries in the four (4) provinces of Region XII pursuant to Republic Act No. 6657 (Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Law of 1988) as amended by Republic Act No. 9700.

Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) Secretary John Castriciones assisted President Duterte in the CLOA distribution to the four (4) representatives of the ARBs in the region.

In his message, the President reiterated the government’s firm advocacy for large-scale distribution of government owned and acquired agricultural land to the qualified beneficiaries.

The issuance of certificates is expected to greatly impact the security of land tenure of the beneficiaries in the region.
