Continuing his State Visit to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. paid a call on Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh at the Government Headquarters in Hanoi.

The two leaders met several times on the sidelines of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summits that established the foundation of President Marcos Jr’s. visit to the Southeast Asian neighbor.

The Chief Executive’s visit aims to solidify the Administration’s commitment in ensuring food security for the country, with Vietnam being a longtime partner and is committed to supporting the rice requirement of the Philippines.

Among the agenda for discussion is the expansion of bilateral trade to US$10 billion by exploring untapped areas. Vietnam is the Philippines’ 11th largest trade partner globally and the 5th largest trade partner in the ASEAN region since 2020.

A working luncheon between President Marcos Jr. and the Vietnamese Prime Minister, together with the business leaders from both nations, follows the call.
