President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. convened with the private sector partners of the World Economic Forum (WEF) during a breakfast interaction in Davos, Switzerland.
The group is composed of seven of the Philippines’ top chief executive officers (CEOs), namely Mr. Sabin Aboitiz (President and CEO of Aboitiz Group), Mr. Kevin Andrew Tan (CEO of Alliance Global Group, Inc.), Mr. Jaime Zobel de Ayala (Chairman of Ayala Group), Mr. Lance Gokongwei (President and CEO of JG Summit Holdings, Inc.), Mr. Enrique Razon (Chairman and CEO of International Container Terminal Services, Inc.), Mr. Ramon Ang (President and CEO of San Miguel Corporation) and Ms. Teresita Sy-Coson (Vice Chairperson, SM Investments Corporation), all of whom are aiming to bring more investments to the country.
During the program, Department of Finance (DOF) Secretary Benjamin Diokno provided updates on the current state of the Philippine economy and an overview of the Maharlika Investment Fund, where event attendees were invited for an open exchange on possible collaboration to support infrastructure development, energy transition and sustainable growth.
National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) Secretary Arsenio Balisacan and Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Secretary Alfredo Pascual discussed the Philippine Development Plan (PDP) for 2023-2028, as well as the trade and investment priorities of the Philippines.
