President Rodrigo Roa Duterte and Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev convened in a bilateral meeting on the sidelines of President Duterte’s Official Visit to Moscow, Russian Federation on October 1-6, 2019.

President Duterte and Prime Minister Medvedev have met in several occasions a few years back. In 2016, the two leaders met during the 11th East Asia Summit held in Vientiane, Laos. A year later, they met again during President Duterte’s first Official Visit in the Russian Federation, where they discussed in a bilateral meeting different initiatives in strengthening the Philippines and Russia’s cooperation in the areas of trade, economy, transportation, education, among others.
