For his two-day official visit in France, President Benigno S. Aquino III met with French Prime Minister Manuel Valls at Hotel Matignon, his official residence in Paris.

Both leaders discussed recent Philippine economic developments and issues involving the Filipino community in France. Around 50,000 Filipinos are currently living and working in France.

Cabinet members Foreign Affairs Secretary Albert del Rosario, Finance Secretary Cesar Purisima, Trade Secretary Gregory Domingo, Transportation and Communications Secretary Joseph Emilio Abaya, Presidential Management Staff Chief Julia Abad, Tourism Secretary Ramon Jimenez, Cabinet Secretary Jose Rene Almendras and Philippine Ambassador Ma. Theresa Lazaro were present during the bilateral talks.

Prime Minister Valls is a member of the Socialist Party and used to be the Minister of Interior from 2012-2014.
