Bilateral Meeting with Mr. David Singleton

Following the reception hosted by the Australia Philippines Business Council (APCB), Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Secretary Alan Peter Cayetano received Mr. David Singleton in a bilateral meeting at the Three International Towers in Barangaroo, Sydney, Australia.

Mr. Singleton is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of an Australian shipbuilder, Austal. The said company established operations in Balamban, Cebu where it employs hundreds of Filipinos, making it one of the foreign companies with the largest number of Filipinos workers.

Prior to their closed-door meeting, Secretary Cayetano personally expressed his gratitude to Mr. Singleton and the rest of the Austal Group for providing employment to Filipinos and securing their safety in the workplace.

Mr. Singleton, for his part, commended the Filipino employees for their hard work and for their contributions in the success of the Austal Group.
