President Rodrigo Roa Duterte conferred posthumously the Order of Lapu-Lapu with the Rank of Kalasag to Cpl. Albert Maramag, and the Rank of Kampilan to five (5) wounded-in-action (WIA) soldiers of the Philippine Army (PA) at the Cauayan Airport in Isabela.

Estelita Maramag, mother of the late Cpl. Maramag, together with her three (3) other sons also serving in the Philippine Army, received the posthumous award from President Duterte. The Commander-in-Chief also handed her a PhP 250,000 cash assistance check, a timepiece, and a cellphone unit.

Likewise, President Duterte conferred the Order of Lapu-Lapu with the Rank of Kampilan to Sgt. Rafael Camaddu, SSg. Roderick Austria, Pvt. Murphy Cuntapay, Pvt. Jhoven Gangano, and Pvt. Mark Anthony Cabangbang, all of whom were wounded during the military’s counterinsurgency operations against the New People’s Army (NPA) and the Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG). They also each received a timepiece and cellphone unit from the President.
