President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. participated in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Leaders’ Interface with Representatives of the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA) in Vientiane, Lao People’s Democratic Republic (PDR).

House Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez, AIPA Head of the Philippine Delegation, and Representative Glona Labadlabad (2nd District, Zamboanga del Norte) accompanied President Marcos Jr. in the Summit.

During the event, the President emphasized the need for enhanced infrastructure, supply chain connectivity, cybersecurity, agriculture, food security, support for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), and climate change initiatives. He also discussed the ASEAN Digital Economy Framework Agreement (DEFA) and AIPA’s role in translating regional commitments into national actions.
