President Rodrigo Roa Duterte attended the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Leaders’ Interface with Representatives of ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA) on the first day of the 28th and 29th ASEAN Summits and Related Summits at the National Convention Centre (NCC) in the capital city of Vientiane, Lao People’s Democratic Republic.

The AIPA serves as the center of communication and information among the region’s Member Parliaments. It aims to encourage understanding, cooperation and close relations among Member Parliaments, Observer Member Parliaments, and other parliamentary organizations.

It also plays an instrumental role in familiarizing the Southeast Asian people with policies to accelerate the realization of the ASEAN Community.
