President Rodrigo Roa Duterte joined his fellow Leaders from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) for the ASEAN-China Special Summit to Commemorate the 30th Anniversary of Dialogue Relations via virtual convention.

The Special Summit focused on the achievements of the ASEAN-China Dialogue Relations for the past three (3) decades and charted the future of the partnership for the next 30 years.

His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah of Brunei Darrusalam, the ASEAN Chair for 2021, and President Xi Jinping of the People’s Republic of China co-chaired the Special Summit.

Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Secretary Teodoro Locsin, Jr., Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Secretary Ramon Lopez, Presidential Assistant for Foreign Affairs Undersecretary Robert Borje, Senator Christopher Lawrence ‘Bong’ Go, and other officials of the DFA and DTI joined President Duterte in the Philippine delegation.
