NAIA Terminal 3, Pasay City
June 24, 2025
Fulfilling the commitment that no Filipino will be left behind amid the escalating conflict between Israel and Iran, the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) and Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), in partnership with the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), teams of Philippine Embassies and Migrant Workers Office (MWO) bring home the first batch of repatriated overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) as they arrive at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 in Pasay City on June 24, 2025.
The group, made up of 31 Filipinos – 26 from Israel, three (3) from Jordan, one (1) from Palestine and one (1) from Qatar – is the first to avail of the government’s call for voluntary repatriation.
One of the repatriated OFWs is Armando Naz, a hotel worker in Israel. He shares his traumatic experience on site, having heard a series of bomb explosions from his area almost every day which prompted him to approach the MWO and seek the government’s help for repatriation. His wife and daughter, Ma. Luisa and Satsuki, are thankful for the intensified efforts in bringing the father of their family safely back home.
Upon the repatriates’ arrival in the Philippines, the DMW will provide monetary assistance of up to six (6) months’ worth of the OFWs’ salaries. The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) will also give cash relief assistance and other programs appropriate for their needs.
Moreover, the Department of Health (DOH) will assist them with medical services, particularly psychosocial support, while the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) will provide skills training to prepare them for redeployment.
