President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. arrived at the Haneda International Airport as he commenced his participation in the Commemorative Summit for the 50th Year of Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN)-Japan Friendship and Cooperation.

The Summit, said to be the final ASEAN-related event for the year, provides a platform for the Philippines to assert its position on international issues and advance its interests. The highlight of the event will be the conferment of Comprehensive Partner Status to Japan, solidifying its pivotal role in the ASEAN region.

Following the Commemorative Summit, the President is likewise attending the Asia Zero Emission Community (AZEC) Leaders Meeting, where he is set to discuss with AZEC Partners, including Japan, the Philippines’ initiatives towards promoting clean energy transition.
