Nay Pyi Taw International Airport

President Rodrigo Roa Duterte arrived at the Nay Pyi Taw International Airport to commence his two-day official visit to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar.

Upon his arrival, the President was welcomed by Philippine Ambassador to Myanmar Alex Chua and Defense and Armed Forces Attache Colonel Edgardo De Leon. Myanmar officials were also present to greet the visiting Chief Executive.

President Duterte is accompanied by his official delegation composed of Agriculture (DA) Secretary Emmanuel Piñol, National Defense (DND) Secretary Delfin Lorenzana, Trade and Industry (DTI) Secretary Ramon Lopez, Foreign Affairs (DFA) Acting Secretary Enrique Manalo, and Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Secretary Jose Ruperto Martin Andanar.

The President’s visit aims to further strengthen relations between the Philippines and Myanmar as the two countries recently celebrated the 60th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral relations. The trip will also focus on improving trade and investment relations.

From the airport, President Duterte proceeded to Horizon Lake View Resort for the Filipino community meeting.
