President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. began his State Visit to the People’s Republic of China as he arrived in the capital city of Beijing at 6:10 PM (Manila and Beijing time) on January 3, 2023.

This is his first bilateral visit to a non-ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) country since assuming the Presidency, and the first Presidential foreign trip for 2023.

First Lady Atty. Louise Araneta Marcos joined the Chief Executive in the three-day state visit together with the rest of the Philippine delegation composed of former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, House Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez, several legislators and Cabinet members.

Chinese Minister of Agriculture and Rural Affairs Tang Renjian welcomed President Marcos Jr. upon his arrival at the Beijing Capital International Airport.

A sizeable business delegation also accompanied the President for roundtable meetings where major business deals will be finalized and signed during the state visit.
