President Benigno S. Aquino III and the rest of the Philippine delegation arrived in Bali, Indonesia on board Philippine Airlines flight PR001. The plane touched down at Ngurah Rai International Airport at 8:32 pm.

President Aquino is in Indonesia to participate in the Bali Democracy Forum VII, where he will co-chair the event along with Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, Timor Leste’s Prime Minister Xanana Gusmao and Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah of Brunei.

The President will also receive the “Bintang Adipurna Republik Indonesia” or the “Star of the Republic of Indonesia,” the highest honor given by the country to a person who contributed extraordinary services to the integrity of Indonesia. He is the first ever Filipino to accept the said award.

President Aquino was welcomed by Philippine Embassy officials led by Ambassador Ma. Rosario C. Aguinaldo and other Indonesian officials led by Ambassador Ahmad Rusdi.
