President Benigno S. Aquino III arrived at the House of Councillors for the Joint Session of the National Diet of Japan on the second day of his State Visit.

The National Diet of Japan is also known as the Imperial Diet. During the Meiji Constitution of 1889, the Imperial Diet was established on the basis of two houses with co-equal powers.
