President Benigno S. Aquino III arrived past one in the afternoon at Gimhae Air Base in Busan City, South Korea to participate at the Association of Southeast Asian Nations-Republic of Korea (ASEAN-ROK) Commemorative Summit being held at Busan Exhibition and Convention Center (BEXCO).
He was welcomed by Philippine Ambassador to Korea Raul Hernandez, Korea Deputy Minister for Economic Affairs Ahn Chong-ghee, Busan City Vice Mayor Kim Kyu-ok and Korean Ambassador to the Philippines Lee Hyuk.
President Aquino is expected to hold a bilateral meeting with Korean President Park Geun-hye and Malaysian Prime Minister Mohd Najib bin Abdul Razak. He will then join other ASEAN heads in the Korean Traditional Arts and Craft Exhibition and welcome dinner to be hosted by President Park.
The theme for the summit which highlights ASEAN and Korea’s 25 years of fruitful relations is “Building Trust, Bringing Happiness.”
