President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. commenced his two-day State Visit to Brunei Darussalam as he arrived in the nation’s capital of Bandar Seri Begawan at 10:01 AM on May 28, 2024.

Philippine Embassy officials led by Ambassador Marian Jocelyn Tirol-Ignacio and several Ministers from Brunei Darussalam led by Minister of Home Affairs Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ahmaddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman, Minister-in-Attendance to President Marcos Jr., welcomed the President and First Lady Louise Araneta Marcos.

The Chief Executive’s state visit is upon the invitation of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah and comes at an auspicious time since this year marks 40 years of formal diplomatic relations between the two countries.
