“This gathering stands as a testament to our enduring and dynamic partnership, marking a new and exciting chapter in the economic collaboration between the Philippines and India,” President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. said in assuring India’s business community of the Philippine Government’s strong commitment to creating an investment-friendly environment in one of Southeast Asia’s growing economies.
Speaking at the Philippines-India Business Forum in Bengaluru, President Marcos Jr. emphasized the nation’s commitment to consistently foster an inclusive and dynamic economic environment that draws in foreign investments.
He noted that the government is transparent about its policy direction to make the Philippines a trusted, connected and competitive player in the Indo-Pacific economy.
“This is the spirit of our Administration’s ‘Bagong Pilipinas’ vision — a new Philippines that enables innovation, drives inclusive growth and welcomes partners who share our aspirations for prosperity and for progress,” he conveyed.
“We have vigorously pursued critical structural reforms that make the Philippines a more attractive and more reliable destination for capital, technology and for talent,” the President added.
President Marcos Jr. also reiterated the strong synergy between the Philippines and India, emphasizing their potential to shape regional norms, deepen supply chain resilience and lead in inclusive innovation. He mentioned key sectors of collaboration, including semiconductors, pharmaceuticals and healthcare, energy transition and digital capability.
Moreover, the Chief Executive underscored the country’s various reforms and legislative measures that reflect a comprehensive agenda geared toward enhancing competitiveness, ensuring sustainability and building future-readiness. From the CREATE MORE Act to the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Code, the President reaffirmed the government’s ongoing efforts to continuously find ways to make the Philippines an even more conducive place to do business.
During the Forum, President Marcos Jr. witnessed the exchange of 18 Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) and Letters of Intent (LOIs) focusing on areas of cooperation, including renewable energy (RE), healthcare, education, information technology-business process management (IT-BPM), digital services and manufacturing. These serve as tangible outcomes of collaborative efforts and will lay the foundation for future cooperation between the Philippines and India.
“What we are building here is not just another bilateral program. It is a powerful platform for long-term strategic convergence — one that recognizes our strengths, aligns our ambitions and delivers tangible results for our people,” the President remarked.
“Let us demonstrate that when India and the Philippines work together, we do not just exchange goods. We build prosperity, transfer knowledge and lead with purpose,” President Marcos Jr. concluded in his speech.
