President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. met with top executives of the GMR Group at the Taj Mahal Hotel in New Delhi, India.
The GMR Group, a strategic partner of the Sangley Aerocity Project, is involved in developing an international airport and surrounding aerotropolis at Sangley Point in Cavite. This project, which directly aligns with the government’s priority to accelerate infrastructure development and attract foreign investments, is expected to create 10,000 to 15,000 jobs. With an estimated cost of US$3-4 billion, the project is projected to generate direct revenues of US$300-500 million.
GMR Group, an Indian multinational conglomerate, is committed to infrastructure development. Its diverse interests include airports, energy, transportation and urban infrastructure. Established in 1978 by Grandhi Mallikarjuna Rao, the company operates through a public-private partnership model and has a global presence.
