Ensuring that the government is on a preemptive response due to Tropical Storm ‘Crising,’ President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. visited the Department of Social Welfare and Development – National Resource Operations Center (DSWD-NROC) in Pasay City.

The President inspected the family food packages currently being packed at the facility using the newly installed mechanized packing system. Aside from the ready-to-eat food packs, he also checked the non-food items that are ready for distribution, including the family clothing kit, sleeping kit and hygiene kit.

Likewise, he drank the filtered water after it underwent a filtration process in the DSWD’s handy water treatment system.

“Ang report ng DSWD sa akin, sa ngayon ang naka-istorage sa atin ay tatlong milyon na relief goods na pack, na packed, na pwede nating ibigay,” President Marcos Jr. said in his remarks to the media.

Even before Tropical Storm ‘Crising’ hit the Philippines, DSWD had already prepositioned three (3) million food packs nationwide. The DSWD-NROC in Pasay City currently has 300,000 family food packs in stock, ready to be dispatched at any time to areas that will be affected by the storm.

According to DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian, 63 percent of Filipinos are pleased with the disaster response of President Marcos Jr. in the latest survey. Despite the high rating, the President instructed all concerned government agencies to implement proactive measures and ensure complete readiness as Tropical Storm ‘Crising’ continues to intensify.
