Phnom Penh International Airport

President Benigno S. Aquino III arrived at Phnom Penh International Airport past eight in the evening (Phnom Penh time) onboard a Philippine Airlines chartered flight from Manila to participate in the 21st ASEAN Summit and Related Summits.
Among the delegation of the President are Foreign Affairs Secretary Albert Del Rosario, Finance Secretary Cesar Purisima, Defense Secretary Voltaire Gazmin, Trade Secretary Gregory Domingo, Cabinet Secretary Jose Rene Almendras, PCOO Secretary Herminio Coloma Jr., and Socio-Economic Planning Secretary Arsenio Balisacan.
Minister for Education Im Sothy and Ministry of Foreign Affairs Director of Protocol Department Prak Nguon Hong led the receiving party for President Aquino at the airport. On the Philippine side, he was welcomed by Foreign Affairs Secretary Albert del Rosario, Philippine Ambassador to Cambodia Noe Wong, Defense and Armed Forces Attaché Col. Micheller Logronio and Protocol and Communications Officer Freddie Ta-A.
In Sofitel Phnom Penh Phokeethra, Trade Secretary Gregory Domingo, Foreign Affairs Undersecretary for Policy Erlinda Basilio, Consul General Jose Cabrera, Sofitel General Manager Charles-Henri Chevet and Philippine Embassy officials were among those who received President Aquino.
The President will have a series of meetings with his counterparts from ASEAN and leaders of the East Asian partners to further advance regional integration and cooperation.
With the theme “ASEAN: One Community, One Destiny,” the Leaders’ Summit is expected to finalize the preparation for an ASEAN community by 2015.
