The Philippines, through the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), received a Certificate of Recognition as one of the countries recognized by the United Nations (UN) for its digital government.

This award, received by DICT Undersecretary for e-Government David Almirol Jr. at the 2025 UN Public Service Forum and Awards Ceremony, recognized the Philippines for its improved ranking in the E-Government Development Index (EGDI) driven by advancements in online service delivery, digital infrastructure and inclusive digital access. The country has also strengthened citizen engagement through online tools and platforms.

The UN Public Service Forum 2025 took place in Samarkand, Republic of Uzbekistan from 23 to 25 June 2025 with the theme, ‘Five Years to 2030: Accelerating Public Service Delivery for a Sustainable Future’. Co-organized by the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs, the Forum focused on the urgent need to accelerate progress in public administration and service delivery to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Discussions in this gathering emphasized digital transformation, innovation and collaboration as key drivers for improving public services, particularly in reaching underserved communities and ensuring no one is left behind.
