Coinciding with the commemoration of the 83rd Araw ng Kagitingan, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. led the viewing of the newly curated Mt. Samat National Shrine Underground Museum in Pilar, Bataan.

First inaugurated in 1970 by the late President Ferdinand E. Marcos Sr., the refreshed museum now offers a deeper and more immersive account of the Battle of Bataan, highlighting the courage, sacrifice and enduring spirit of Filipino and American soldiers who fought side by side.

The reopening serves as a meaningful tribute to the bravery shown during one of the most challenging chapters in Philippine history. The updated exhibits not only commemorate the heroism of uniformed personnel but also shed light on the contributions of local defenders and civilians who shaped Bataan’s wartime story.
