“As you don your new badges, remember, you are not only rising in rank, you are also rising in responsibility… Let your actions always be rooted to what is right, what must be done, and what is legally ordered. Perform your duties with utmost dedication, integrity, and accountability, knowing that the trust and confidence placed in you demands your very best,” said President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. in reminding the newly promoted Philippine National Police (PNP) star-ranked officers of the greater task that comes with their new positions.

The President administered the oath-taking ceremony of 39 PNP officers at the Ceremonial Hall in Malacañan Palace. In his keynote address, he also conveyed his congratulations to the families of these officers who have had their fair share of sacrifices in supporting their loved ones’ careers, saying, “We are all part of the larger mission: to create a safer, more just, and more prosperous Philippines.”

The Commander-in-Chief expressed that as they take on a higher rank, the Filipino people expect highly of them as their leaders and protectors — a police force that is reliable, responsive and resolutely committed to protecting the lives of their countrymen.

“Let us ensure that we all live up to those expectations… The road ahead will not be easy but this I know: You wear your badge not just on your chest but in your convictions. There is no greater [and] more honorable calling than to serve and protect the country,” he said.

He reminded them to balance the demands of law enforcement while preserving institutional integrity, adhering to human rights and having effective leadership to address the multifaceted issues confronting the country.

“Mas patatagin ang pagiging maka-Diyos, makabayan, makatao, at makakalikasan. Itaguyod natin ang isang Bagong Pilipinas kung saan ramdam ang kapayapaan sa buong kapuluan; At kung saan ang bawat Pilipino ay nabubuhay nang matiwasay, walang takot, at may dignidad,” President Marcos Jr. concluded in his message.

The PNP officers who took their oath of office before the President comprised of four (4) Police Lieutenant Generals, 11 Police Major Generals and 24 Police Brigadier Generals.
