“Nagpapasalamat kami sa ating mga employer na sumama ngayon dito sa ating serbisyo para magbigay nga ng pagkakataon sa ating mga manggagawa na makahanap ng trabaho na bagay sa kanilang kakayahan,” President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. conveyed in acknowledging the local employers and companies that participated in the ‘Trabaho at Serbisyong Pangkalusugan sa Bagong Pilipinas’ job fair held in the Province of Laguna.
In his brief remarks at the event organized by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), the President noted that one of the challenges confronting Filipino workers today is job mismatch. The ‘Trabaho at Serbisyong Pangkalusugan sa Bagong Pilipinas’ provides support to job seekers in exploring opportunities that match their skills.
Ibig sabihin kung ano ‘yung bagay sa kanya hinahanap natin ‘yung trabaho at pinagkakasama natin,” he said.
Beneficiaries of the DSWD’s Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) were offered employment opportunities from 26 employers invited by the DOLE. These covered the sectors of administrative and support services, manufacturing, wholesale and retail trade, and financial insurance, among many others.
Around 3,000 graduating 4Ps, who were also beneficiaries of the DSWD’s Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) program, received financial aid amounting to PhP3,000 each. The DOLE likewise distributed PhP5,600 each to beneficiaries of its TUPAD (Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers) Program.
Beyond employment opportunities, other services were also made available. The Department of Health (DOH) conducted a medical mission wherein the Chief Executive witnessed the turnover of anti-dengue logistics from the DOH to the City Health Offices of Biñan and San Pedro, Laguna.
Beneficiaries also availed different services from the Social Security System (SSS), Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) and Pag-IBIG Fund, as well as skills training and demonstration from the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA).
