In his first stop during a visit to the Province of Cavite, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. inspected the Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX) Subsection 3 Governor’s Drive Interchange in General Trias City.

This is an 8.64-kilometer segment of the CALAX Project that will link Silang (Aguinaldo) Interchange to Governor’s Drive in General Trias City, Cavite. As of 18 March 2025, the segment is almost at 44% completion and is projected to be completed by July of this year.

President Marcos Jr. is briefed on the status of the CALAX Subsection 3, a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) project between the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and MPCALA Holdings Inc., a subsidiary of the Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation (MPTC).

Once completed, it is projected to reduce travel time between Cavite Toll Expressway (CAVITEX) in Kawit to South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) at the Mamplasan Interchange in Biñan City, Laguna from two (2) hours to 45 minutes; cater to 8,000 additional vehicles per day to CALAX, increasing its current daily average of 45,000 vehicle entries and serve a total of up to 95,000 vehicles per day; support national development policy and provide efficient transport facilities for the eco-zones in Cavite and Laguna; improve the competitiveness of Region IV-A as an investment destination; and, reduce traffic congestion particularly in Governor’s Drive, Aguinaldo Highway and Sta. Rosa-Tagaytay Road.

The CALAX Subsection 3 Governor’s Drive Interchange is one of the eight (8) interchanges comprising the 44.57-kilometer CALAX Project. The four (4)-lane closed-system tolled expressway starts from Centennial Road in Kawit, Cavite to Greenfield Property in Biñan City, Laguna.
