President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. directed the Department of Agriculture (DA) to enhance efforts against African swine fever (ASF) through livestock consolidation, reinforced biosecurity measures and continued vaccination during the Regional Development Council (RDC) III Meeting in the City of San Jose del Monte, Bulacan.

He also instructed the Department of Transportation (DOTr) to coordinate with Smart Communications in securing the necessary broadband frequency for the North-South Commuter Railway’s (NSCR) signaling system to ensure smooth and safe operations for the 147-kilometer mass transit project.

The RDC III meeting focused on addressing challenges in agriculture, infrastructure and digital connectivity to support the development of Central Luzon. The directives formed part of the Administration’s efforts to strengthen regional growth and resilience.

“These are all the schemes that are in place; kailangan lang natin palawakin, but we are moving. We are moving it so that our production will increase. We had a bad year last year because of the drought, tapos sunod-sunod naman ang bagyo, so ang daming nasira. But we are hoping that this year, we’ll do better. Despite that, the production was still the highest ever recorded in the Philippines. So this year, we are anticipating even higher results. Lahat ng pwedeng gawin para tulungan ang production, gagawin natin,” President Marcos Jr. conveyed in his remarks.
