Ngunit kailangan pa rin na magkaroon ng trabaho,” conveyed President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. when he visited the ‘Trabaho sa Bagong Pilipinas’ job fair in Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental.

The job fair is a program conducted by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) that assists graduating Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiaries by helping them transition from receiving government aid to self-sufficiency and financial independence through a wide range of jobs and pre-employment services.

In Dumaguete City, 15 participating employers offered more than 1,700 job vacancies to around 3,000 job seekers who were also beneficiaries of the DSWD’s Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) Program. Pre-employment documentation and advisory services were made available from different agencies.

Ibig sabihin ‘hired on the spot.’ Congratulations sa inyo,” he proudly announced. Likewise, he expressed his well wishes to other applicants, as well as his optimism that they will find good jobs.

Another highlight of the event was the Kadiwa ng Pangulo booth by the Department of Agriculture (DA), selling basic commodities and agricultural products at affordable prices. The President shared that stores present in the event were able to sell rice at PhP29 per kilo.

Kaya’t ginagawa po lahat ng inyong pamahalaan upang mabigyan ng tulong ang mga nangangailangan ng tulong,” the Chief Executive conveyed, further urging his countrymen to not hesitate to let their local government leaders know, as well as those in the national government offices, about their needs.
