President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. expressed his gratitude to His Excellency Phan Peuv, outgoing Ambassador of the Kingdom of Cambodia to the Philippines, for his contributions to deepening bilateral relations during the latter’s farewell call at the Study Room in Malacañan Palace.

During their meeting, the outgoing Ambassador conveyed his appreciation to the Philippine Government for its unwavering support and commitment throughout his tenure. He reflected on the last three (3) years as lead envoy, highlighting the deepening of bilateral relations and cooperation between the two countries. This culminated in the productive outcomes of the recent official visit by Prime Minister Hun Manet of the Kingdom of Cambodia, during which both leaders agreed to enhance cooperation in agriculture, education, trade and investments.

The Chief Executive noted the productive discussions he had with the Prime Minister during several international meetings which contributed to the successful outcome of the Prime Minister’s visit.

The outgoing Ambassador assumed his role as Cambodia’s lead envoy to the Philippines on 25 May 2022 and concluded his diplomatic posting two days after Prime Minister Hun Manet’s Official Visit to the Philippines.

Diplomatic relations between the Philippines and Cambodia were established in 1957 and have since strengthened through bilateral cooperation and regional partnerships.
